Arts and Education
I am a painter, a designer and a variable medium craftsman.
I consider myself to be mainly a contemporary realism artist, although I necessarily state that I have multifaceted aspirations as an artist and will not limit myself to one genre or medium.
The ambition behind my current studio work is to capture a minuscule moment in time, a flicker of memory, that might otherwise have gone unnoticed or been forgotten and to recreate this in its sole intensity to hold onto for eternity. I continue to strive to achieve flawless recreations, and feel that all learning and growth is a combination of what has already been done entangled with ones own imagination.
In each and every commissioned project, I endeavor to exceed my clients expectations by creating work that elicits continual admiration while satisfying the initial goals of my clients vision.
--------------------------EDUCATION----------------------------
I have been pursuing my passion for painting and drawing all my life. Up until 2005, all my education and skill came from my incredible parents, my hometown public school system, which in retrospect were fairly progressive for their time, and from any free workshops that our local youth center or community arts center might be holding. When I am creating - I am at peace.
In 2005, I began my formal and collegiate education studying under the superb guidance of Ron Cheek at Tarrant County College. A tough instructor with incredible talent, Ron's instruction required me to go back to basics and return to the classic disciplines and study of form. Ron's own formal training from the Florence Academy of Art, which teaches these methods, brought me back for semester after semester, to continue to acquire the training that I was so graced to have found.
After 2 years under Ron's tutelage along with the other core components, I earned a Fine Arts Degree from Tarrant County College. I have now moved on to study at the University of Texas, Arlington wherein I am now in pursuit of an Interdisciplinary Studies Degree that is comprised of undergraduate courses in Art, Literature and Psychology, melding my love of art, literature and mind into one.
My aspiration is to write and illustrate young children's literature while working as a muralist and a painter.
